My dear friend, Mama Fisch, does something called “Tidbits of Talk” to wrap up her week. It’s all the random that you want to share in one quick place. I love the idea so I’m joining her this week, because oh the random up in here.
*Today will be visit 3 to the doctor for the week. Monday the girls went in with strep (Ava) and an ear infection (Allie). Allie wasn’t getting better because she still thought sleep was for suckers and her ear was for digging. Off we went yesterday for a new round of antibiotics. This morning Ava wakes up saying her ear hurt. So much for ballet this morning. update: she’s saying it doesn’t hurt and wanted to go to ballet. i’m holding my breath for now.
*I think I have trolls in my washer and drier. I’ve noticed tiny holes in Allie’s new clothes. Then I noticed one in my brand new Nike yoga pants I got for Christmas that were my new favorite-ever-in-life lounge pants. I’m pissed. Any ideas why this is happening??? We use sensitive detergent in our HE washer. (I don’t even wash Allie’s clothes with ours so I can’t imagine her tiny zippers that she actually has are snagging anything)
*Allie started saying mamamama. I know she’s not saying mama but it sounds super sweet when she’s being clingy like a monkey and I’m exhausted. I let myself believe that she’s actually saying it for me.
*My heart was broken this week when I learned that John Mayer will only be playing at Stubb’s (a local music venue) with a SXSW (a major live music festival in March) pass. SAD. FACES. Seriously. I was hoping that I would go to Stubb’s and be able to watch John Mayer and scream my face off. That’s not happening. Sigh. SIGH! He’s got a new album coming out this year, hopefully sooner rather than later, so maybe he’ll tour later this year too. I WILL BE THERE. And hopefully 7th row or better again. can you tell i like john mayer just a wee bit? just a bit.
*I’m getting a new iPod Nano thanks to the Mama Fisch. She reminded me so I dug up my very first iPod ever. Luckily I’d given it to Ava to play with when it conked out, so we still had it. SCORE for a Nano recall and YAY for new Apple technology, double when it’s free! So maybe now I can actually have an Apple product that is dedicated to my music only that no one will steal.
*I’m still caffeine free. I also discovered a taco called the “Jess Special” that has migas (scrambled eggs with chopped up corn tortillas, tomatoes, onions and peppers) and avocado. Holy delicious.
*Don’t buy Munchkin brand wipes. They suck. Amazon Mom ending the diaper discount? Also sucks.
*My kid is now wearing size 2 diapers. She’s growing up. Last weigh in? 15 lbs and 10th percentile baby! note: i grow runty kids.
*I had a random dream that I met Jason Mraz and told him how excited I was to watch his new Fresh Beats Band episode. He gave me a download code so I could watch it. I blame Heather B. for this one since we were talking about it yesterday. That part of the dream was better than the part that I was in a car while a tornado blew over us. That part kind of sucked–especially since I’m terrified of wind/tornadoes. Sadly? I actually do want to see Jason Mraz on Fresh Beats (despite the fact those kids are obnoxious). It’s not a stint on Yo Gabba Gabba, but he’s awesome so he can overcome that. gah can you tell I’m a mom? nick jr up in here on the regular.

Yes to many things here. John Mayer and screaming your face off? Yes please. You know I know a *little* something about serious singer crushes. I’ll totally scream with you. Even though I know like 2 of his songs. Jason Mraz on Fresh Beat Band: excellent. We have it taped and it’s currently in its 4th run over here. Also? I love the FBB.
Not as much as I would love seeing you scream your face off though. Let’s be clear on that. Munchink wipes? Sucktastic, agreed.
Oh it is comical the amount of excitement. You were one of the few I knew would understand the extreme infatuation. I’m currently scheming trying to figure out how to get tickets.

Hee hee hee! That dream is classic! And I have to ask, how is the no caffeine going? I am inherently skeptical, but supportive, but curious! Please advise.

You know what also sucks? Target brand wipes.
I ended up going without caffeine for about 16 hours yesterday & couldn’t figure out why I was so cranky and had such a horrible headache. I mean, I knew I was sick . . . but there was something more. I think it’s time for me to kick the caffeine, again.
