Who I Am
I’m a Texas girl (but I’d probably love to leave in the Pacific Northwest. I love the rain and clouds). Currently staked out in the Capital City. I’m a wife and mama, a lawyer and a runner. Odd that I “defined” myself with 4 little words. Titles. That’s not all I am, but those are big parts of my makeup. I stay busy and am usually doing 100 things at once (because just focusing on one thing at a time just doesn’t make sense, right? I blame genetics). I don’t walk slowly and don’t take breaks, always on to the next project.
I started this blog just to write about the random things I have to say. For a while I talked a lot (and still do) about my mom. I lost her to cancer in 2006 and it had a profound impact on me. On my outlook. I talk about my daily life and the random things that annoy me. When I say this is where randomness is found, I mean it. Who knows what I’ll write about next.

I’ve got two beautiful girls. I’ve been married 9 years to an awesome dude.

We have two rat dogs that probably rue the day Ava got here. They used to have it pretty golden (special toys, treats, pictures with the Easter bunny) then babies came. Yeah…things changed.

Why Straight Talk?
At my last job I had to deal with people a lot. That was my job–talking on the phone. All. Day. Long. (only I didn’t know it would be my job, but that’s a story for another day) I have a no nonsense kind of way when dealing with things so I’d usually lay things out with no sugar coating and sometimes little patience. But that tactic got stuff done and my boss “affectionately” termed me “Straight Talk.” And you know what, I like that!
